Hello, this is John Kelly of the Kelly Law Team. I want to talk to you about Airbag Injuries.

Airbag injuries are common in auto accidents. And they can occur for a number of reasons. There are times when there's a defective product. The airbag fails to deploy, for instance, and you have a claim against the manufacturer of the airbag. There are other times where the airbag deploys, but it does so in a way that injures you. Maybe it didn't deploy fast enough, or it went too fast and injured you in that way, which I've handled that claim, too. The unique thing about these is we want to collect the evidence about how the airbag went off or didn't go off. So, it's important to preserve the vehicle in these claims.

Oftentimes insurance companies, if it's a total loss vehicle, which oftentimes airbags deploy, it will be, will take the car. The police will take it to a tow yard. It will remain there for a certain period of time before it gets demolished or sold for parts. It's important to get out to the vehicle and take photographs, video, allow the other insurance company or their attorneys to go look at the airbag, too, to really determine how this injury occurred. The injuries from these cases can be devastating and building your damages is another important aspect of that.
