I’d read “Still unsafe at any speed.” Twice. I am still as horrified re-reading it as I was the first time I’d read the book. It doesn’t exist at any library in the 48 that I know of. I think it should be required reading; that EVERY library have a copy on the shelf at all times. That alone would likely save someone’s life. Seeing as money talks, it would be very difficult to sell cars EVERYONE knew were dangerous.

Example: my cousin bought a Geo Metro right about the same time I bought my Honda Gold Wing in 1995. I’d told her straight out, “If you ever hit anything in that car, it will fold up like an accordion with you in it. Please, get rid of it.”

Within a month, she was killed in that car as I’d warned her. I don’t know all the details. I know she was alone, and just based on the car, I’m willing to say it didn’t get 47 mpg without a lot of sacrifice.

Fairly recently, I was talking to someone about her, and I drove right past one. Since they haven’t made them in several years, and they weren’t common to start with, I wonder what the odds are?

I had another cousin a few years back, in a minivan, hit a culvert from a new drainage ditch (not on Google Earth) Car ran into a building. Said to be driving erratically before the accident (bipolar illness).

I’d like to see a running website on products and cars that are dangerous, seeing as nobody tells us anything. I didn’t even know the 09 R/T Challenger had Takata airbags until I got the (2nd) recall notice. Same car was recalled for the drive chain.

What car (s) would you suggest riding or driving yourself and why?

I enjoyed your book. It keeps me awake nights, but it was interesting.
